In my previous article, I delved into the topic of ChatGPT and GPT-4 and their impact on sales and marketing. While I provided a general overview of the topic, I felt that the discussion on the accuracy and quality of the generated content was not fully explored. In this blog post, I aim to delve deeper into this topic, examining the accuracy and quality of the generated content and how it can drive conversions and meetings for sales and marketing. By providing a more in-depth analysis, I hope to provide a clearer understanding of the potential and limitations of ChatGPT and GPT-4 in this area.
Accuracy and quality of generated content are crucial for sales and marketing. They are the keys to driving conversions and meetings, which ultimately lead to sales.
Let's take a closer look at how ChatGPT can help in this process by providing an example of a specific email writing task. I will explain how a salesperson does it manually, then show how I will use ChatGPT to help me with this task.
Let's work on an example
I am going to write an email to Joe (fake name), a leader at Odaseva. I chose Odaseva for this demonstration as a random company website. There is no relationship between our companies.
In the email, I want to pitch our product, Personize.ai. Personize enables its users to craft 1000s of emails personalized to each contact and also delivered to them in their favourite tools: HubSpot, Salesforce, Outreach, SalesLoft, Apollo, etc. Here is an overview of what we do:
My objective is to entice Joe's interest in a meeting with me.
As I begin to write the email, I think about how to make it stand out. I want to show Joe how Personize.ai can help him and his company save time and increase conversions. I also want to make sure the email is tailored to Odaseva's specific needs and industry.
Of course, I could have used our own product that is built on GPT-4, but that will be part of my next blog post.
I start typing away, trying to find the perfect words to make your pitch irresistible. It was too time-consuming so I decided to use ChatGPT!
Using ChatGPT to help me write the email
In step 1, I begin by identifying the buyer and their company. For example, "Joe Smith at Odaseva Corporation". Next, I will share the pitch or message that I want to convey in the email. This could be something like "I am interested in offering our new product to XYZ Corporation as a solution for their current needs." Once I have provided this information, I will then use ChatGPT to generate an email for me, using the information I have provided. This will save me time and effort in crafting a professional email.
It wasn't the email draft that I want. I could re-generate the result, instead I challenged ChatGPT to write a different version with the following message:
How to increase accuracy and level of personalization of the email?
I then focus on adding accuracy and specific details to the amazing quality of the above emails generated by ChatGPT. In the previous step, I just provided the name of the buyer and their company, as well as our pitch. However, the generated email lacked specific details about the buyer's company and why I am reaching out to them.
To address this, I add a few sentences as a summary about the buyer's company and why I am reaching out to them. By adding these additional details, we can ensure that the email generated by ChatGPT is more accurate and personalized to the buyer's company, increasing the chances of a positive response.
I also requested ChatGPT to condense the text while still preserving all crucial information in the email.
I am now satisfied by the outcome. The above email is a good example of how far ChatGPT can get in generating results with high quality and accuracy.
Can we scale ChatGPT to craft 1000s of emails with high quality & accuracy? My answer is yes.
In my next blog, I will delve further into the topic of scaling the use of ChatGPT for marketing and sales. The ability to scale an email campaign to reach thousands of buyers while maintaining a high level of personalization has been a daunting task in the past, but with the emergence of AI models like ChatGPT/GPT-4, it is now possible.
At our company, we have been working diligently to develop a solution that allows B2B companies to reach a large number of buyers in a short period of time, while still maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality. I understand that this is a complex topic and requiresmore in-depth discussion. That's why I have dedicated a separate blog to explore this matter in more detail.
I encourage you to subscribe to get notified about the next topic on how we can scale email campaigns to reach thousands of buyers efficiently and effectively.
